The Harris Hawk (Also called - Bay Winged Hawk - Louisiana Hawk – Harris’s Hawk) is native to the central part of the Americas.
There are two subspecies of Harris Hawk, “Parabuteo Unicinctus Harrisi” which are found mainly in the North American continent and down through to northern South America and is generally referred to as "Harris Hawk"
“Parabuteo Unicinctus Unicinctus” which is found mainly in South America, and is generally referred to as "Bay-Winged Hawk."

In the picture she is going through her annual molt at the moment and looks a bit straggly
food so far has consisted of day old chicks, quail,mice ,rats, rabbits and pheasant
Having always been very interested in raptors of all kinds,imagine my surprise when for my 60th birthday my wife gave me a Harris Hawk
