Leumadair Guest House

Welcome to the village of Callanish, or Calanais in Gaelic. Callanish is the location of the famous Callanish Stones and also where our four star Guest House, Leumadair can be found.  Although the village is famous throughout the world it is still a small crofting community and here at Leumadair we operate a working croft, with a few additions!

Leumadair Guest House

"Leumadair" is from the Gaelic masculine noun of the same spelling and pronounced "LEMEDER", meaning either a Salmon, Dolphin, or a Small whale.

The Guest House has 4 rooms all with en suite facilities.

  • All guest rooms have views of the Callanish Stones
  • One twin room (with additional facilities for the disabled)
  • Two large family rooms both with double bed and bunk beds
  • One Double room with a King sized bed
