Deer spotting

It’s not all peace, quite, seclusion and tranquillity!

Try the Hebridean Challenge one of Europe’s toughest adventure races going the length of the island chain in kayaks bikes, swimming and running.

  • Four half marathons
  • Two very hard hill races.
  • Surf the mighty Atlantic during the (not for the weak) International Hebridean Surfing Festival.
  • Or dive the pristine clear waters, (many are demanding dives for the serious diver).
  • Climb the mountain crags or sea cliffs, many routes are just waiting to be discovered (not for the under equipped or foolhardy)
  • Why not try orienteering, cycling, walking, and horse riding
  • Summer Midges - Teeth on Wings - the final challenge - you up to it?
Hebridean Sunset

Don’t forget the fishing!!!!

  • 2000 fresh water lochs - many fished free
  • Flies - to many to even think about mentioning
  • Brown trout - little beauties
  • Sea trout to 5lbs - gleaming
  • Salmon to 8lbs - outstanding
  • Sea Fishing - Conger, Skate, Ling, Cod, Rays, Dogfish & much, much more
  • If you decide to go sea fishing there are many charters available on the island
  • Freezer Facilities are available for your catch

Then give us a call, you can stay with us either in our B&B or in our self-catering croft house!

“Leumadair” Guesthouse is located facing the enigmatic Callanish Standing Stones, watch the sunrise and set over this arcane edifice. With it’s stunning panoramic views over croft land to Loch Ceann Hulivag, Callanish, and East Loch Roag.

Our self catering cottage “Calanmaran” has the same great views of the Callanish stones from the croft side windows, how would you like to watch the sun go down nightly over these ancient and mystical stones, then wake up to the sun rising again over the stones.
