Travelling to Lewis
Getting to the Hebrides and then travelling inter-islands is a lot easier than you may think.
Ferry Travel
Caledonian MacBrayne run a direct car and passenger ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway, a car/passenger ferry to/from Skye to Harris and also to Lochmaddy in North Uist. Inter-island services also operate between Ardmhor in Barra and Eriskay in South Uist and also from Berneray in North Uist to Leverburgh and Harris.

Regular bus services connect with the ferry arrival and departure times.

Train Links
You can get as far as Inverness by train, and then go by bus to Ullapool.
You can travel as far as Oban, Mallaig and Kyle by train, and then travel onwards by bus to the ferry from Skye to Harris.

Directions for those Driving, Cycling or Walking from Stornoway
From ferry terminal entrance, turn left onto Shell Street, then proceed to the first roundabout. Go straight across onto South Beach following road round through town until you come too 2nd roundabout. Go straight across. Then take first left onto Willow glen road, at T-junction turn left, you are now on the A858 to Callanish, at the Leurbost filling station turn right, following the signs for the Callanish Stones. You are now 10 miles from us, staying on the A858 passing through Guardian na-Aibhne. Bypass the signs for the Callanish stones and continue down the A858.
After about 600 metres turn left onto our driveway which is opposite the electric grid substation.
Calanmaran is 100 metres from the road and our guesthouse is behind the self-catering cottage.
