There is the circular tour that starts at the doorstep and takes you to the Broch - Dun Carloway, takes you on to see,
Barvas the road joins the main Stornoway - Ness road so you have the choice of carrying on to Ness, or completing the circular and come back via Stornoway, then across the Pentland Road, which is a single track moorland road with spectacular scenary. Google and most Sat Nav systems insist this is the main route to Callanish!
The circular is only one of many sightseeing excursions, another is Uig and Bernera. Again there are many ancient archeological sites to see, but the beaches here are the main attraction, and of course the Abhainn Dearg Distillery for those with a taste for whisky.
There are day trips to other islands, the most famous being St. Kilda.
Sea Trek Sea Safari - boat trips from Lewis with day trips to St. Kilda. Sea Trek is approximately a 35 minute drive from Leumadair Guest House. They offer a range of excursions and opportunities to enjoy the spectacular scenary and wildlife the Outer Hebrides has to offer.
The Isle of Harris is land linked to Lewis and is well worth taking the time to visit. Whilst Harris Tweed is weaved throughout the islands this is where the name originates. Harris has lots to offer and you can do most of it in a day trip from Leumadair.
